A Quick Note! Summer is almost over, (aww) but Autumn is arriving (yeah!) School has now returned and I feel like my schedule is back on track. Though I suppose that I could’ve kept a schedule going throughout the summer but I was either hunched over my computer writing my first draft to my latest novel (Prince Noralv: Edge of Shadows, Book Two!) or I’ve been going on family outings and gatherings. My summer has been full and I am grateful. Now with Autumn (Fall as some prefer to call it) on the horizon, I am so very in the mood for sweaters, books, stationery, fire in the fireplace, pumpkin spice…
Hooked on Stories and a Giveaway
The Stories That Started It All Every reader (that I know of) all remember that one (or two) story/series that sucked them into the world of reading. For me, it was two series’. The first was The Mandie Mystery series by Lois Gladys Leppard, a light-hearted mystery following the life of Mandie Shaw and the puzzles that she either stumbled upon or her curiosity that got the better of her. She and her friends became determined to figure it out which usually led to some sort of trouble and excitement. For a young girl (like I was) I truly fell in love with all of her lively adventures. The next series…
Writing Process for Indie Writers
Seasons greetings, May your winter holidays be merry and bright – even if it’s just chilling at home or at work. I have discovered that I like to research any topic that tickles my fancy and I like to organize it. I’m probably a word geek. Yes, a word geek ( or wordsmith, if you will). I can live with that. In my latest research binge and the love of organizing it I have conjured a decent list about the writing process from brainstorming ideas to publication. This list is not the only way to write or the One Great List to rule them all. This a launching point. Tweak as…
Taking Time For Myself
Hello, Everyone. I hope everyone’s summer is, so far, full of adventure, even if it’s just the adventure of reading. My stress levels were high this August with trying to stay on target with my writing goal, among other things. My son was recently designated as being on the autism spectrum, diagnosed with ADHD, and a learning disability due to his ADHD. My husband and I were already anticipating this outcome and were emotionally prepared when we were given his designation. I have chosen to homeschool my children (and am feeling blessed that I am in a position in my life I can choose how he gets schooling) and I…
Well, it’s a long-time-no-post situation. Thank you for your patience. I am currently working on re-writing my story ending but may still choose an earlier version. Stories sometimes have a way of writing themselves (in a matter of speaking). Also, the website is going through a bit of a transformation so please keep checking back to see all the new changes. If you’d like to keep up to date and be notified of all the new content before everyone else I will suggest signing up to my newsletter! Sneak peeks and free content should be arriving fairly soon. Thank you…
To All You Lovely People…
Hello, to all you lovely people. I now have a newsletter you can subscribe to. (Check out my side bar.) The newsletter will be containing writing updates, publication updates, previews, and (the best part) links to free stuff! Updates will also be posted here, but those on my newsletter will be the first to know all the fun and exciting new stuff. Don’t miss out, sign up. (Does peer pressure work?) Just kidding. I wouldn’t do that. Or would I? Sign up and keep creating! Thank you. JT Harris.
Hello everyone. I am slowly learning this whole website thing. Slowly, I will be updating and changing this site and its pages and other content. I am looking forward to spending time here and letting you all know what I will be bringing to share with you. Thank you for spending some of your time with me. JT Harris.
Don’t Forget To Take Time For Yourself
Hello again! These next few blog posts will be short and sweet. October will soon be upon us and it’s always a busy time of year for me. I make costumes quite often so naturally, October becomes costume making month as I like to make my kids, husband, and myself costumes for Halloween. I will soon be up to my elbows in fabric, boxes, paint, and tape. There will be princesses and creepers of plenty… 🙂 As important as it is to write all the time it’s just as important to take time for yourself and for your family and friends. So, peel your way from your laptop or notebook.…
