• And then it was a new year…

Happy New Year! “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it… yet” – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables. Hello friends, How are you? Did you have a good winter holiday/celebrations? This is a new day and a new year with nothing but the future ahead of us. What will you do with your time? Do you have big goals? Little goals? Let’s celebrate your wins. Yes, I am aware of the challenges that we are facing and will face, but in the end, I agree with the quote above from Anne of Green Gables. Every day is a fresh start. No mistakes. (I learned that quote in kindergarten!) Yet,…

  • Making an Action Dream Board

Happy New Year, my friends! A new year is now here. Time for a fresh start, resolutions, and setting goals. Everyone has their own ideas about resolutions and goal setting and I’m not going to claim to be an expert on those things. I will, however, be trying out a dream (vision) board to see how well they work. I’ve heard them called action boards with the hopes that you’ll be spurred into action instead of just dreaming. I love dreaming so I will be dubbing mine an action dream board – cause I will be taking some serious action! It’ll be an experiment for me. Vision, Action, Dream Board.…

  • August Updates, Goals, and Upcoming Giveaway

My summer hit the ground running. Before I knew it August came. My goodness, I barely realized it was July. July was full of exploration, family gatherings, crafting, and, of course, writing. I have a couple major goals happening in August. Straight out the gate, I am participating in a superhero walk for the International China Concern. I donated last year but couldn’t make the walk. This year I am donating and will be able to join in on the walk. The goal is that I have to make a superhero costume, really fast. (Lack of time at its finest.) Yes, I will be a superhero. Power Girl for…

  • Changes Are Coming

Richard_Carter via Visual hunt / CC BY-NC Over this next month many things are changing. I am starting up a newsletter about my writing, publishing ups and downs, and free writing samples from my debut novel. I am getting excited and feeling a bit frustrated due to things not running as smoothly as I would have liked. Don’t worry. I am not discouraged. I think I may have signed up for a bit too many sites that are supposed to help me achieve all my marketing dreams. I am unsure if some of these are leading me down the right path for me or not, but it’s worth a try. If…

  • Setting Goals.

Photo via MannyvonKannen via VisualHunt.com As many of my friends and family know, I have won this year’s NaNoWriMo! And, I couldn’t be happier about it. I have been so busy with my writing and Christmastime that I have put a slight halt to my blogging. I love you all for your patience. Thank you! Christmas is almost upon us, again, and there’s so much to prepare, lists to check off, people to see, and, of course, writing to be finished. I have given myself a bit of time to chew over what I wrote in the month of November and am doing a bit more world building…

  • The best place to write.

Where is the best place to write? The best place to reflect and hone in on your inner creator? At a coffee shop? A library? At a park? My “best place” to write at the moment is at night, with no lights on, the TV running in the background, or listening to music that is inspiring me in the moment, sitting in my favourite corner of the couch, and my little fingers typing away on my keyboard. Mmmm… bliss. Honestly, finding your favourite place to write is a personal choice. Everyone is different. We are meant to be different. Different is fantastic. That’s what makes everything so interesting. Venture forth…
